We are convinced that good ideas, great projects, by their nature fly high, light as feathers, but to do so they must be implanted on very consistent wings, the wings of responsibility.
Clean energy
Since 1985 our factory has started to use sustainable sourcing of clean energy through the installation of solar panels for the production of hot water needed for the dye plant. Further renovations to the washing and dyeing equipment (reduction of liquor ratios) have made it possible to achieve water savings of around 40% in recent years.
Since 2014 we have installed photovoltaic systems capable of generating 140 kW of electricity from solar radiation.
Our goal is a complete autonomy in energy supply, with the use of only clean and renewable natural sources.
Work enviroment
A new efficient vacuuming system has been installed inside our manufacturing departments in order to minimize the spread of dust which is generated during the processing of the feathers. We have also air-conditioned all spaces, thus creating more comfortable working conditions in both summer and winter.
Respect for animals
The types of feathers that we deal with come from animals bred for food purposes. We operate in full compliance with the Washington Convention by safeguarding protected or endangered species.
The feathers are collected and sorted instead of being disposed of or, in the best of cases, becoming organic manure. The importation of feathers into Europe is subject to strict regulations and supervision by veterinary departments in all countries of origin.
Green Wash
Since 2021 we have revolutionized our raw material washing system. We managed to apply an all-Italian invention using magnetic spheres for washing, totally eliminating the use of detergents.
In addition to reducing environmental pollution, we save 70% of water and 85% of energy every day!
Recycling
our processing waste is not simply disposed of as trash, but is recycled and transformed thanks to the collaboration with AltreMani, a creative laboratory that operates in our territory since many years handling job placement for people living in difficult conditions.
