CREATIVITY, GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT
Since 1985 our factory has started to use sustainable sourcing of clean energy through the installation of solar panels for the production of hot water needed for the dye plant. Further interventions of renovation have allowed us to save 40% of the consumption of water in the last years. We have recently installed two photovoltaic systems able to generate energy for 100kW through the sun rays. These are the first steps with which Galeottipiume are getting closer to full autonomy in energy supply, with the use of only natural sources, clean and renewable.
A new efficient vacuuming system has been installed inside our manufacturing departments in order to minimize the spread of dust which is generated during the processing of the feathers. Also an air conditions system has then been placed in order to improve the working conditions during both summer and winter.
In compliance with The Washington Convention we never use feathers from protected or endangered birds, but only from animals farmed for the food industry. The feathers are collected and selected instead of being disposed as organic manure.
Energy, Environment, Respect for nature, are for us intrinsic values. They are not abstract ideas but concrete actions that during these years of work have been converted into growth and development. We are in fact convinced that good ideas, great projects fly high, light as feathers. But in order to do this, they have to be implanted on strong wings, the wings of responsibility.
Our processing waste is not simply disposed of as trash, but is recycled and transformed thanks to the collaboration with AltreMani, a creative laboratory that operates in our territory since many years handling job placement for people living in difficult conditions.
