With respect for animals and their natural growth cycle, a quality raw material is obtained while protecting the ecosystem.
At this stage our feathers are ready to be assembled, cut, sewn or glued, sometimes combined to other sophisticated and precious materials. They are sorted and collected from all over the world, rather than having to be disposed of
or transformed into organic fertilizer. The research for raw materials is a fundamental aspect of our production cycle. Our efforts to find sustainable sources are not only for ethical reasons.
It is a choice that permits us to get feathers of first quality, more flexible, ductile and performing. Unfortunately, nowadays the breeding cycle of birds is often highly exasperated artificially.
This process is also favoring the disappearance of certain varieties of birds, once common on farms and now increasingly rare. For GALEOTTIPIUME, preciousness and rarity in matter of feathers do not match the use of rare species protected by the Washington Convention.
Our material is rare and precious since it is selected exclusively by the authorized establishments registered and listed by the European Community. Subsequently if necessary or requested, we work to recreate unusual colours and the most extraordinary natural textures with the help of special dyeing techniques and finishing processes.
Feathers are a living material, delicate but ductile, so precious that they cannot be used just once. Nature creates them and the sensitivity of creatives reuses them so that they can relive a new life.
